  4. We are all human

    3 member(s), last updated January 7

The system in which we live has systematically seperated disabled people from society. Society is set up to divide and seperate human beings from each other. The mechanisms which are used to do this include racism, sexism and classism. The system ensures that everybodies humanity is tied up with how much they are able to produce. If you are not able to produce then you are not human and deserve to be kept away from other human beings. The history and continuation of disability oppression keeps in place a society in which it is acceptable to dehumanise people. In order to create a world where human beings are valued as human not as cogs in a machine, a world where discrimination and oppression of all groups is eliminated we need to construct a society based on the true inclusion of all people. This group is set up to coordinate a group of disabled people and their allies from across Europe who want to travel to the European Social Forum. We want to go to the ESF to bring the disability perspective to the human rights and social movements of Europe, to create and build alliances across European social activism and to learn from other movements.
