The following groups have started to coordinate different debates, workshops and strategy meetings around food and agriculture:

Via Campesina/CPE, European Food Sovereignty Network, Friends of the Earth Europe, Friends of the Earth Sweden, Attac Austria, Attac France, Attac Germany, European Civic Forum, Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy, Seattle to Brussels Network etc.

Several joint activities are currently developed and will soon be registered for the ESF:

a) a conference on: FOOD SOVEREIGNTY IN EUROPE

b) a seminar on: THE EXPLOSION OF FOOD PRICES - ROOT CAUSES AND ALTERNATIVES, BUILDING NEW ALLIANCES

c) a seminar on: AGROFUELS AND THEIR IMPACT ON FOOD SOVEREIGNTY etc.

d) a seminar/workshop and a strategy meeting on: THE COMMON AGRICULTURE POLICY

e) a workshop on: GMOs AND SEEDS

There are some more ideas developed.

We are also discussing about the need and wish to have at the end of the forum a thematic assembly on the issue of food and agriculture, food sovereignty.

We will register soon proposals on these issues.
